The Churches Conservation Trust

The Churches Conservation Trust saves churches at risk, putting them back at the heart of the community by conserving their past and regenerating the buildings for the future.

The Churches Conservation Trust looks after 350 historic churches across England and each year carries out around 20 conservation projects for the repair and maintenance of these special places. The charity strives to put people at the heart of what they do, working with community groups, charities, social enterprises, businesses and entrepreneurs, to breathe new life into under-used churches.

Volunteers are the very life force of the organisation. The Churches Conservation Trust has 1,800 volunteers across the country who care for their local churches, welcome visitors and help to raise funds for the organisation. Our Awards are a way of promoting these dedicated people who maintain the historic, social and cultural value of our churches.
