The Marjan Centre
The Marjan Centre seeks to protect the planet’s biodiversity through an understanding of how conflict and war impact the ‘non-human’ sphere: this includes the Earth’s ecosystems, fauna and flora and natural resources, as well as the atmosphere.
Migration, food and water shortages, and their environmental consequences are some of the factors leading to human conflict. Combined with poor legal enforcement, this can cause a whole range of wildlife crimes, threating species and natural resources.
However, working throughout these regions of conflict are dedicated individuals who often put their lives at risk for benefit of conservation. It is these inspiring people that our Award partnership seeks to recognise.
