New Awards Partnership with Blue Cross

This year marked the launch of MCT’s new Awards Scheme in partnership with Blue Cross UK, celebrating and recognising the outstanding contributions of its volunteers.

Blue Cross is a UK animal welfare charity dedicated to helping sick, injured, homeless, and abandoned pets. Founded in 1897, the charity provides veterinary care, rehomes animals through its adoption centres, supports pet owners with advice and financial assistance, and promotes responsible pet ownership through education and outreach. Blue Cross also offers pet bereavement support and works to improve animal welfare by campaigning for better standards of care. Through donations, volunteers, and fundraising, the charity helps thousands of pets and their owners across the UK each year.

Volunteers are at the heart of Blue Cross and play a vital role in supporting its work with pets and their owners. They help in many different ways, including caring for animals in rehoming centres, fostering pets, assisting in veterinary hospitals, volunteering in charity shops, supporting fundraising events, and providing pet loss support. Volunteers make a meaningful difference helping thousands of sick, injured, homeless, and abandoned pets each year.

Our partnership with Blue Cross has allowed us to highlight the incredible volunteers who support the charity across its wide range of services. The Awards are presented across ten distinct categories, celebrating contributions in areas such as animal welfare, retail, community engagement and support for people.
