David Booker is a former Director of Volunteering at Barnardo’s and worked closely with Brian Marsh and the MCT to start the Award scheme with Barnardo’s in 2000. David first joined Barnardo’s in 1983 as Assistant Director for the North West, having initially trained as a social worker. David currently holds an advisory role with NHS commissary groups, working in his local area of York specifically.

Since becoming an MCT Ambassador, David has presented a number of Awards including the Marsh Award for Mental Health Peer Support, with Mind, the Marsh Awards with the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and the Marsh Awards with Civic Voice.
