Earth Day 2026

Today, we are celebrating #EarthDay! Today highlights the importance of our planet and the conservation of its ecosystems on all continents and oceans. We hold relationships with a number of incredible organisations that work tirelessly to care for, and protect, our natural world.

The MCT supports organisations through our Grants Programme, and Marsh Awards Scheme. We are pleased to support organisations, volunteers and professionals and hope our support helps to raise further awareness of their work.

#EarthDay – Awards Schemes
Through this, we now run Awards Schemes with over 40 partner organisation, with over 100 Awards. A number of our Award partners focus on the conservation of the natural world – swipe to read about our partners!

Botanic Gardens Conservation International works with members and other plant conservation organisations, carrying out threat assessments, seed conservation, ecological restoration and plant health and education projects around the world.

The British Ecological Society is the oldest ecological society in the world, striving to generate, communicate and promote ecological knowledge and solutions among established and aspiring ecologists worldwide.

The British Entomological and Natural History Society promotes and advances research in entomology with an increasing emphasis now being placed on the conservation of the fauna and flora of the United Kingdom and the protection of wildlife throughout the world.

The British Trust for Ornithology works to investigate, promote and protect birds and other wildlife by monitoring change in populations and behaviours, and informing the public and environmental policy-makers.

Butterfly Conservation is a leading voice in preventing the decline of butterflies and moths in the UK, and through our Awards with them we recognise their volunteers.

Campaign for National Parks is the only independent charity dedicated to securing the future of National Parks in England and Wales. They are committed to promoting the protection, conservation and enhancement of National Parks in England and Wales for public benefit.

Fauna & Flora International’s work spans across the globe, with over 140 projects in over 40 countries, mostly in the developing world. They proudly stand up for biodiversity and aim to show just how relevant it is to all of those who share the planet.

Kent Wildlife Trust is the leading conservation organisation covering the whole of Kent and Medway, dedicated to protecting wildlife and wild habitats for everyone to enjoy.

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew’s mission is to be the global resource for plant and fungal knowledge, building an understanding of the world’s plants and fungi.

The Wildlife Trusts aim to inspire people about the natural world and saving, protecting and standing up for wildlife and wild places. The Wildlife Trusts care for 2,300 diverse and beautiful nature reserves, from remote woods and rivers to inner city nature parks as well as running marine conservation projects around the coast and campaigning for the protection of our seas.

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is an international scientific, conservation and educational charity whose mission is to promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats.

The MCT has a number of both long-standing and new relationships with organisations through our Grants Scheme. These organisations play a vital role in helping to protect our world and the MCT are pleased to able to supports these causes year on year.
